Sometimes what he views as rejection is simply reaction. So, just remember to help your mate out when it comes to intimacy. If he needs a helpful hint or a friendly reminder about how to approach you with success — help him out! His perspective is different, and he might just need a simple reminder!
Whatever shape you find yourself today, there is a Master who wants to fill you up with all good things to refresh and satisfy, and so that you can pour out into others with whatever He fills you with!
Have you ever considered that the Fruit of the Spirit should be evident in the marital bed? We could solve a lot of problems in Christian marriages by telling Christian wives to just exhibit the Fruit of the Spirit in their sexuality — perhaps all our marriage problems could be solved with a bowl of fruit!
Has it ever crossed your mind to wonder what it feels like to flounder in the ocean of alone, trying to hang onto a plank of sodden wood, while you try to keep yourself afloat, while you desperately cling to the children to keep the waves from casting them away. . . or worse?
Electronic gadgets are not a necessity. They are a bonus, a privilege, and a great motivational reward for getting things done! You don’t have to be mean and nasty. Just get their attention. “Sure you can have it back. As soon as you finish your chores and do your homework. . . and get some exercise — Vitamin D is essential to cellular function!” All said with a smile!
I suspect that the single most effective way to reveal areas of spiritual growth needed in a Christian wife is through our sexuality. He designed the intimacy of marriage to be a great gift.
And in the process we might find that we never really knew that man as well as we thought we did. We might discover some interesting things about that man. We might find that there is more that we ever dreamed deep within. . . or we might find that he’s not as complicated as we thought.
Each day, I’ll post an encouraging reflection about marriage, with perhaps a new way to consider an old conflict, or a reminder to love your husband, or just a fun way to plan a romantic date for your husband. In the amount of time it takes to drink your morning warmth — you might kindle a coal that breaks into a flame of romance!
