Welcome to the first day of our one-hundred day journey to a greater marriage! Ready to roll?
When I prayed to God for wisdom and help in my marriage, a simple message was whispered to my soul, and that easy little suggestion was like putting the car in drive, easing some pressure onto the accelerator, and steering the car down the driveway on an incredible journey that ended in a miracle for my marriage — and the writing of ‘Won Without Words’.
Thanks for coming along with me on this trip! Here is our first tip, and it is so simply easy!
“Let laughter break down the walls of silent loneliness.”
And here’s the challenge: sometime today, laugh in the presence of your husband — preferably with him. But if things are so strained that you can’t laugh with him, then laugh before him — in his presence — let him hear your carefree laughter, as a song of delight!
Laughter is the best medicine for a sick marriage! (Proverbs 15:13, 17:22)
Now, I didn’t say laugh at your husband. That is breaking the rules!
Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Share a joke with him
- Post a funny pic on his Facebook page
- Play a practical joke on him that will end in laughter (only if he likes practical jokes)
- Have a tickling match
- Laugh with the children and invite him to join in
- Watch a funny movie together that you will both enjoy
Come on over and increase the fun by commenting on our Facebook page and give your travel buddies some hints of how to bring laughter into our home and marriage.
