Are You Feeling Broken?

Sometimes we just feel broken.

The good news is:

Only in broken. . .  is healing.

“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”  Isaiah 53:5

Only in lost. . . is found.

Only in sorrow can tears be wiped away.

Only when you collapse can you be carried.

Only in death is resurrection.

Only in bondage is deliverance.

No one was ever delivered, healed, rescued . . . from joy. . . but into joy.

So, if you find yourself broken today. . . take heart.  You are a prime candidate for . . . binding up.

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.  And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations. . . For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion; therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them. . . I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with jewels.”  excerpts from Isaiah 61, a prophecy about Christ.

Your marriage tip for today?  Identify in the resurrection power of Christ, for your marriage, and all your relationships and spheres of influence.

“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”  Romans 8:11

Be quickened today!

  1. In what situation would you like deliverance? Write it down; ask God for deliverance.
  2. In what area do you need comfort? Write down a prayer of supplication.
  3. Do you need hope? Read Isaiah 61, and instead of reading it in first person, change it to third person, by replacing the name of Jesus for the subject, and your name as the direct object! i.e. to comfort [all that mourn] me; to give [unto them] me beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that [they] I might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that [he] Jesus might be glorified. Amen!!
