Lord’s Day Devotional; Eye Hath Not Seen

On this beautiful Lord’s Day, I want to encourage you to hold on to hope.  Hope is the voice of faith.

Hope is the cry of a newborn, separated from its lifeline, wondering where the calming rhythm of the steady heartbeat, the warmth of the womb has gone –  crying for some — one to help.

Hope is the whimper of a child in the night, wondering if the dream or mother is reality — please come.

Hope is the sob at the gravesite, the frustrated sigh of the foreman, and the curse of the teen at seemingly insurmountable obstacles.

Hope is the tiny spark of a flame that cries out, “Please help!”  It is the voice that carries the faith of the spirit, to the ear of someone who can be counted on to help.

Hope is the spark that lights the flame of faith, to wait for the answer from somewhere beyond ourselves.

There is hope for you in whatever despair you face.  Hold on to hope.  Do not delay in releasing the voice of hope, to cry out in faith, for help from your Creator –the one who painted the sunrise, who clothes the lilies, who counts the sparrows, cares for you!

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.” I Corinthians 2:9

And, that’s not just describing Heaven!  There is a hope and a future for you today (Jeremiah 29:11)!

Daffodils in the Forest

Don't despair when the winter's woes come with frigid fierceness. On some sweet sunny day, with birds' orchestral accompaniment, joy comes in the morning, as the golden flag unfurls a sign of victory over the death of winter.
